The methodology of disinfestation with a controlled atmosphere refers to the placement of products in airtight chambers. Nitrogen is supplied so that the oxygen level falls below 1% and the temperature is controlled. Under these conditions all stages of the insect are killed. The EcO2 controlled atmosphere method is a realistic commercial option without the use of disinfectants in products and packaging. The use of special technology creates a controlled atmosphere that causes killing at all stages of insects.
